| The Jeet Kune Do Lead Punch is one of the most elusive strikes to learn, in the terms of how do I learn it, practice it and apply it.
Although an easy tool to learn and maintain, it eludes many students and I hope to address what I can of its elusiveness within this book. |
I have to stress that this book represents my views on the Lead Punch in Jeet Kune Do and shows you how I do it and along the way, you will begin to develop your own views. I hope that you will start to come up with your own ideas on how to train it in a way that is best for you.
Like a lot of systems, we hit with the closest tool to our target and in most street aggression situations this will probably be our lead punch although not limiting ourselves to it. It can be a very deceptive punch to an opponent when thrown correctly. It will also be an extremely heavy shot when we start to apply the straight line concept and not having to be overcommitted in our body structure means that in the event that we do miss the first time round we can quickly re-chamber the punch and move with ease, without having to regain position and balance first. | |
